Stress Management

“People feel little stress when they have the time, experience and resources to manage a situation. They feel great stress when they think they can't handle the demands put upon them. Stress is therefore a negative experience. But it is not an inevitable consequence of an event: It will depend a lot on people's perceptions of a situation and their real ability to cope with it.”

There is good stress and bad stress, the trick is in knowing which is which. Some stress is necessary, it's what gets you out of bed in the morning and lets you leap out of the way of oncoming vehicles (It developed to help you leap out of the way of oncoming sabre toothed tigers!)

This course will show you simple but profound ways of managing and reducing stress. Reducing the bad stress and utilising the good stress to enable you to reach goals and targets you never thought possible!

Course Overview

The aim of the course is to equip staff with strategies and techniques to handle stress in the workplace. The course enables staff to understand how and why stress is caused. Then, gives them techniques to cope and utilise stress to their benefit.

Objectives

At the end of the course, delegates will have been helped to:

  • Understand why stress is sometimes necessary.
  • Have ways of reducing stress.
  • Be able to work under pressure without being stressed.
  • Have techniques to use in all situations, regardless of who or what is involved.
  • Be more productive.
  • Be more creative at problem solving.

The company will benefit from this in several ways:

  • Less ‘lost time’ from sickness.
  • Higher production per employee.
  • Smoother functioning of inter-office relationships.
  • More creative problem solving.
  • Lower staff turnover.
  • No litigation from employees.

Techniques used:

  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
  • Breath Work
  • Relaxation Techniques
  • Hypnotherapy
  • Conflict Solutions
  • Parallel Thinking

Learning Outcomes:

During the course participants will use these techniques and will experience the benefits immediately. This encourages them to continue to use what they can now perceive as proven techniques – not theories that may work but which they have not yet experienced.
By the end of the course they will have learned to identify their own personal stress triggers and will have many techniques with which they can reduce and eliminate negative stress. They will also have learned how to utilise positive stress and how to set their day up in a positive way.

Course duration: One day.
Number of delegate places: 30
